The Tejas started out as a nuts on clone of an original TS808 that was owned by a famous Jazz guitar player. Once cloned I felt that I had to bring something new to the table so the "SPICE" knob was added. What does the "SPICE" knob do? Well, with "Spice" set down, counter clockwise, you have the nuts on TS808 clone and when you turn this clockwise it has the effect of lifting a wet blanket off of the speaker cabinet. So, your notes come more out towards the front of the mix. This brings up level a bit so usually I would turn the level pot down a hair to compensate for this. The "Spice" knob makes the TS808 design into something more than the one trick pony. It also lessens the mid-hump and compresson making this a very tweakable pedal that works with all types of guitar amps.

Texas Two Step Deluxe (TTS-DLX) In my honest opinion the TTS-DLX 2009 is the best TTS ever! The left stomp is used to turn this pedal on. I usually set the drive to about 10 o'clock with the left stomp on in order to get my amp to sound slightly broken up in a Texas Blues or ZZ Top kind of way. The left stomp I kick on for fills or to solo. Originally designed to get a 100 watt Fender Twin to sound broken up, which it would not do at any volume on it's own, the TTS has been in service since 2000' and continues to be my personal pedal of choice. The TTS, as commonly refered to, has more bottom end than a typical Tube Screamer pedal and took me 2 years to get 'right' for my purposes. The TTS DLX adds an eq and gain shift when the boost stomp is engaged.

Running on 18 volts internally with active bass and treble controls the Cactus Crunch is an interesting pedal with it's own thing going on tonally. I originally built this pedal with the idea of getting "Fender Bell Tones" out of a smaller wattage amp. The need for this arose when the 18 watt amps became so popular with players. I love this pedal but do not suggest it if you use something like a Fender Reissue amp since these tend to be bright enough on their own.

A double Grey Spec DOD-250 with tone controls! This pedal was inspired by Yngwie Malmsteen's use of two grey spec DOD pedals and the desire to take up less pedalboard real estate. The tone knobs were added, as suggested by original beta tester, with the idea to be able to back off some of the bottom end should you have the gains set high.
